Selecting the right puppy breed can be a challenging task. As a small-scale breeder, we specialise in breeding Cavapoos and Cockapoos. When you introduce a puppy into your family it is a big decision, and you want a healthy, happy and well socialised puppy. We too found it a daunting experience; a minefield trying to find a reputable breeder who we could trust which is one of the reasons we decided to become licenced breeders. With more than 15 years of experience in breeding, we can help you find the ideal puppy for your family. Here you can find a little about cavapoos and cockapoos and why we believe they are superb family pets.
Cavapoos are the perfect blend of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Poodle, resulting in an adorable and lovable companion. Cavapoos are no doubt very popular, please enquire early to join waiting lists for upcoming puppies for sale. We very rarely advertise cavapoo puppies as when they arrive, they are already reserved for their forever homes.
There are different variations in parentage within the Cavapoo breed. F1 Cavapoo refers to the offspring of a purebred Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Poodle. On the other hand, an F1b Cavapoo occurs when one parent is a Cavapoo and the other parent is either a Poodle or a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. The percentage of Poodle genetics plays a role in determining the shedding levels, with a higher percentage leading to less shedding and increased hypoallergenic qualities. However, it's important to note that all Cavapoos shed hair to some extent, although some may shed more than others.
One of the distinctive features of Cavapoos is their cute and fluffy appearance, accompanied by an endearing forever puppy expression. They are known for being friendly, affectionate, and make excellent family pets due to their playful nature. Cavapoos are wonderful companions for both children and adults. Their intelligence, inherited from their Poodle, makes them quick learners and easy to train. Additionally, their hypoallergenic coat minimises shedding, making them a great choice for individuals with allergies.
Beyond their role as family companions, Cavapoos have big personalities and thoroughly enjoy socialising with other dogs and humans alike. Their sociable nature adds to the joy they bring to any household.
Similar to Cavapoos, Cockapoos are a mix between the Cocker Spaniel and the Poodle. Cockapoos are renowned for their friendly, affectionate nature, and make excellent family pets due to their playful and energetic personalities. Cockapoos are highly intelligent dogs and are, therefore, easy to train. Additionally, they are hypoallergenic and shed very little, making them a perfect choice for people with allergies. In addition to their outgoing personalities, Cockapoos are renowned for their loyalty and love to be around their owners, making them an ideal addition to any family.
Cockapoos, just like Cavapoos, inherit characteristics from their parent breeds, resulting in a similar coat. Cockapoos with the Poodle's coat shed less, making them hypoallergenic. However, those with less curly coats may shed more. While Cockapoos are generally slightly larger in size, the miniature Cavapoo can often resemble a Cockapoo.
In terms of temperament, Cockapoos are sociable, loyal, and easy to train, much like Cavapoos. However, Cockapoos tend to be more energetic than Cavapoos, requiring slightly more exercise and mental stimulation.
Both Cockapoos and Cavapoos share many similarities. They are loving, sociable, and easy to train. Cavapoos tend to have a more laid-back nature compared to Cockapoos. Cockapoos are slightly larger in size and require more exercise. We always recommend that both Cockapoos and Cavapoos receive at least an hour of daily walks as adults. Engaging them in enrichment activities, training, and games provides numerous benefits and helps prevent boredom in your furry companion.
